Setting up ConnectWise and providing the information needed.


To setup Cognition360 Live, you'll need to be an administrator in your ConnectWise Manage instance. We will be performing the following:

  1. Create Security Roles

  2. Create API Member

  3. Create API keys

Once completed you will need to send the API keys to C360. Click Setup Live and fill out the fields with your info

This will give us the info we need to make the connection. Our support team will reach out to you if there are any issues.

Note:  If you already have C360LIVE for Service Desk reports then Proceed to Section B of the Security Role setup to set up the role for Time Entry data.  

If you are signing up for the first time, Start with Section A of the Security Role setup.


Creating a Security Role - SECTION A Service Desk (Tickets and Schedule Entries)


Creating a Role with Read Only Rights for the API account

  1. In ConnectWise Manage, go to System > Security Roles

  2. Create a new role called “ Cognition360 Live

  3. Go to the " Service Desk " section of permissions

  4. Set all “Add Level” = None

  5. Set all “Edit Level” = None

  6. Set all “Delete Level” = None

  7. Set highlighted “Inquire Level” = All

 

Drop down the Service Desk option.  Under Add Level | Edit Level | Delete Level Set all options to "None"

Inquire Level - Items highlighted in Yellow must be set to "All".  All other options must be set to "None"




Creating a Security Role - SECTION B (Opportunity Data)


Next, Open up the Sales Option.  Again, under Add Level | Edit Level | Delete Level ensure that all options are set to "None" 

As before, under Inquire Level - Items highlighted in Yellow must be set to "All".  All other options must be set to "None"




Creating a Security Role - SECTION C (Time Entry Data)


Drop down the Time & Expense Option.  As before, under Add Level | Edit Level | Delete Level ensure that all options are set to "None" 

Items under Inquire Level - Items highlighted in Yellow must be set to "All".  All other options must be set to "None"



Creating a Security Role - SECTION D (Invoicing Data)


Drop down the Finance Option.  As before, under Add Level | Edit Level | Delete Level ensure that all options are set to "None" 

Items under Inquire Level - Items highlighted in Yellow must be set to "All".  All other options must be set to "None"


Creating a Security Role - SECTION E (Project Data)


Drop down the Project Option.  As before, under Add Level | Edit Level | Delete Level ensure that all options are set to "None"   Items under Inquire Level - Items highlighted in Yellow must be set to "All".  All other options must be set to "None"


Creating an API Account

  1. In ConnectWise Manage, go to System > Members

  2. Select the ‘API Members’ tab

  3. Click + to add an account

  4. Enter “Cognition360” in the Member ID field

  5. Enter “C360Live” in the Member Name field

  6. Set the Role to the one created above, “Cognition360 Live

  7. Click Save

Creating a public and private API Key

  1. Select the ‘API Keys’ Tab

  2. Click + to add a new set of keys

  3. Enter C360Live

Send the Keys to Cognition360

  1. Click Setup Live and fill out the fields with your info

This will give us the info we need to make the connection. Our support team will reach out to you
